How to use
- Enter your run time (hours, minutes, seconds).
- Enter the distance you ran.
- Choose min / mile or min / km for your preferred pace unit.
- Click Calculate Pace.
- See your pace, speed in mph and kph, and projected finish times for four race distances.
Formula
Pace (min/unit) = Total time (min) ÷ Distance
Speed (mph) = 60 ÷ Pace (min/mile)
Speed (kph) = 60 ÷ Pace (min/km)
Projected finish (min) = Pace × Race distance
Worked example
30 minutes for 3.107 miles (5K):
- Pace = 30 ÷ 3.107 ≈ 9.657 min/mile → 9:39 per mile
- Speed = 60 ÷ 9.657 ≈ 6.21 mph (10.00 kph)
- Projected marathon = 9.657 × 26.219 ≈ 253.2 min → 4:13:12
Notes
Projected finish times assume a constant pace. Real race times slow with fatigue, especially in the half marathon and marathon. Use these projections as a starting point, not a guarantee.
